Pakistan calls for expanding trade ties with Iran

Tehran, IRNA – Advisor to Pakistan’s Prime Minister for Commerce and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood said that his country wanted to expand trade ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Speaking in the 9th meeting of joint trade committee of Iran and Pakistan on Saturday in Tehran, Dawood said that Islamabad wanted to expand ties with Iran in various trade fields, including transportation, product barter, tariff cut, and building border markets.

He said that the two countries made planning and agreements on strategic cooperation, but it is yet to be implemented, expressing hope that necessary steps begin right today.

Iranian and Pakistani officials will discuss the latest developments in economic, commerce, border trade, customs, and joint border markets collaborations.

Agreements on preferential and free trade between Iran and Pakistan and collaboration to organize an exhibition attended by banking, trade, and commerce chambers officials and the private sector from both countries.
